Hi, I’m Kirsty

Life can feel overwhelming, and it’s not always easy to overcome challenges on your own. Whether you’re struggling with current difficulties, feeling stuck or trying to heal from a painful past, counselling can offer the support you need. It provides a safe space to explore your emotions, make sense of your experiences, and work toward living a freer, more fulfilling life.

I offer a calm and confidential environment where you can express your thoughts and feelings openly, without fear of judgment. My priority is to ensure you feel comfortable and safe as we explore both past wounds and present struggles, working together to heal and develop practical tools for building a more fulfilling future.

As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches to tailor our work to your unique needs. Some of the approaches I use include:

  • Person-Centred Counselling

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Attachment-Informed Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

  • Somatic and Polyvagal-Informed Approaches

I offer counselling online via Zoom or in-person in the centre of Emsworth, with sessions priced at £55.

As of June 2025, I’m fully booked and unable to add anyone to my waiting list at this time. Please feel free to check back in a couple of months if you are still interested in working with me.

  • BA (Hons) in Counselling (Waverley Abbey College; Middlesex University)

  • Certificate in Working with Children, Young People and Families (Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body)

Qualifications

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the Association of Christians in Counselling (ACC), I am committed to maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with people from various ages, genders, cultural contexts and religious beliefs, each bringing their own unique story.

In addition to my own counselling practice, I spent several years working with Mind’s crisis support service, where I provided one-to-one mental health support sessions and crisis intervention for young people facing self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and other high risk behaviours.

What could you talk about in counselling?

People come to counselling for many different reasons. You might be facing a specific challenge, feeling stuck or simply need a space to process what’s going on in your life. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to face it alone.

The main areas I work with are:

Chronic illness / pain & disabilities

Disordered eating & poor body image

Low self-esteem & self-worth

Relationship & family difficulties

Spiritual struggles & finding meaning in your life

Other areas I work with include, but are not limited to:

  • Questions around identity

  • Relationships involving control, manipulation & narcissistic behaviour

  • Self-harm & thoughts of suicide

  • Trauma & unprocessed past events

  • Work-related stress, burnout & workplace challenges

  • Anger management

  • Anxiety

  • Being bullied

  • Depression & persistent low moods

  • Life transitions and change
