Counselling with Kirsty
To be heard is to begin to heal.
Hi, I’m Kirsty..
Life can feel complicated, painful or confusing at times. This could be because of something recent, something you’ve carried for a long time or feelings that are hard to put into words.
Counselling offers a supportive space to understand your emotions, help you recognise how the past has shaped you, and give you tools to work towards an authentic and meaningful life.
Working at a pace that feels comfortable for you, I draw from a variety of approaches, offering therapy to suit your personal needs and values. Above all, my work is centred on compassion - not only in how I support you but also in my commitment to helping you increase self-acceptance and kindness toward yourself.
I work in a sensitive, warm and relaxed way, offering a space where you can take your time - and there’s always a cup of tea available if it helps you feel more comfortable.
I work with adults and young people aged 14+, offering one-to-one sessions either online (via Zoom) or in person in central Emsworth.
Each session is 50 minutes and cost £60.
What can I talk about in counselling?
You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Maybe you know exactly what you want to work on, or maybe you just know something doesn't feel quite right. Either way, counselling gives you space to explore what's going on without having to have all the answers first.
I often work with people experiencing:
Chronic illness & pain
Disordered eating & body image struggles
Exploring faith & life’s meaning
Low confidence & self-esteem
Relationship & dating difficulties
Trauma & painful past experiences
Other areas I work with include:
Anger management
Anxiety and worry
Career uncertainty, burnout and work-life balance
Challenges within family relationships
Boundaries, saying no and putting others first
Emotional overwhelm and stress
Feeling stuck or behind in life
Grief and bereavement (online only)
Life transitions and change
Loneliness or social isolation
Loss of identity and sense of self
Perfectionism, fear of failure and self-criticism
Persistent low mood
Social anxiety and shyness
These areas often overlap and influence each other, which is why I use an integrative approach - adapting to what you specifically need rather than using the same method for everyone.
I also offer Christian counselling for those who'd like to explore their struggles within the context of their faith, weaving together psychological support and spiritual perspective.
My qualifications & experience
I've been working in mental health for over nine years, including roles at two counselling charities and several years at Mind, where I provided one-to-one support for young people dealing with self-harm, suicidal thoughts and other mental health challenges.
I keep learning through training so I can offer the very best support I can to those I work with.
